PHOTOSHOP TIP: Making Screws

Step
1
Start with the image size of
32 pixels for the height and
32 pixels for the width, with a resolution of 72.
Step 2
Note: Make sure your foreground color is black and your background
color is white
Go to Layer>New>Layer and
name the layer "Screw", now with the Elliptical Marquee tool make
a selection that looks like this
Step 3
Use the Radial Gradient tool and fill in your selection so it looks like this

Step 4
Go to Layer>New>Layer, name the Layer "Line"
Step 5
Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool and make a thin line from the top to the bottom
of your image, now go to Edit>Fill, where it says Use, choose Black
Step 6
Go to Layer>Duplicate Layer, now go to Select>Load Selection and click
ok, go to Edit>Fill, where it says Use, choose White, now on your keyboard
press the Right Arrow key two times
Step 7
Go to Layer>Merge Down, your image should now look like this

Step 8
Go to Select>Load Selection click ok, now go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian
Blur and choose a Radius between .8 and 1.5 , now go to Select>Deselect
Step 9
Go to Edit>Transform>Numeric and click the Rotate Box and type in a value
of 45, click ok.
Step 10
Go to Window>Show Layers, click the "Screw" layer, go to Select>Load
Selection and click ok, now go to Select>Inverse, click the "Line"
Layer and hit delete. Finally go to Select>Deselect and your final image
should look similar to this:
