New Style for FresherImage.com

We launched FresherImage a little differently that most community driven websites; we opened up our doors looking to have our very identity crafted by the community that supports us. FresherImage is a marketplace that strives to do more than simply sell the goods of its community members, and we seek to include our members in every facet of our operations, from opinions on policies, to the features of our site, down do the very appearance of our online presence.
To this effect, FresherImage has been launched with a neutral design that's not quite as flashy and showy as some others out there, which will allow you, our members, to submit your own ideas about how the identity of the website should unfold.
The concept is revolutionary, albeit risky, however we have faith that we will see incredible results from our community! We've also removed any risk to our contributors in creating our new layout - if your entry is not selected as the winner, then you can go off and resell your designs wherever you like (preferably here with us on FresherImage's design marketplace).
So that's the story, now here's the project:
25 Pages Needed (you will only need to design the home page to qualify - the winner will be required to design the remaining pages upon selection.)
PSD Files Required
Pages Must be Sliced in Table Free/CSS DIV and Valid XHTML
A New Site Identity/Logo Should be Present in the Design
The Reward?
$3000 Prize to the Selected Winner Upon Completion of the Project!
Your Name in Lights (or text actually) - Designer credit will be retained on our site-wide footer! (This could more valuable than the cash.)
Opportunity For Additional Design Work.
$3000 Cash Money (Worth saying twice.)
Note: The current contest is held until August 31st, 2010, however, we reserve the right to extend the competition date if needed.
We fretted, debated, conversed, discussed, considered, and cogitated the amount of direction that we would provide for the design submissions. In the end, we felt the best way to go would be to present a number of themes that we brainstormed that might be fitting to the concept of the site. However, the below list of theme ideas is not mandatory to follow, and you are permitted to submit your own unique idea or to design one of the below:
1. Winterfresh Chewing Gum - A Theme based upon a clean minty pack of chewing gum. It could have a vector of an open pack of gum for the logo (with fresherimage printed on the gum pack), and/or other vector related items.
2. Fresh Laundry - Nothing like the scent of linens fresh from the dryer.
3. Fresh Fallen Snow - Ski the slaloms of FresherImage!
4. Just Fresh and Clean.
5. Your Own Unique Fresh Ideas!
Regardless of the theme you choose for the site, what we're ultimately after is freshness, with good, clean, large fonts, clear calls to action, and that WOW factor. You are also free to play around with the organization, content, and features on the website to provide the best possible user experience.
